Employee data under DPDP: The HR Playbook every CHRO needs

Date: 23 Sept 2026

Time: 16:00

Venue: Virtual Session

Every resume, background verification report, biometric attendance record, medical declaration, and exit interview contains personal data. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) is reshaping how organisations collect, process, store, share and erase employee data. The big question for HR leaders is whether employee data can be processed without consent, and what process changes may have to be implemented to process data in a compliant manner? Full compliance falls due on 13 May 2027 — under nine months away.

In this session, we translate the law into a practical HR compliance framework covering the entire employee journey, from the first candidate interaction to post-employment data retention and deletion.

The webinar will inter-alia cover:

  • Who is an employee under DPDP?

  • Understanding employment, need for consent / legitimate use exceptions

  • Engaging HR management tools, payroll and other vendors

  • Managing data across the employee lifecycle

  • Employee rights under DPDP

  • Building a practical HR DPDP Compliance Framework
