Syed Peeran

Syed Peeran has experience of over 15 years and is currently heading the litigation practice at Bangalore office of LKS. He regularly handles disputes across various areas of law including commercial laws, labour and employment laws, insolvency and bankruptcy and intellectual property rights. He has also successfully handled several complex indirect tax cases and investigations in the areas of GST, Service Tax and VAT. During this period, he has developed substantial expertise in advising clients from diverse industries, including e-commerce, information technology, infrastructure and automobile sectors. Syed has represented and is advising large publicly and privately owned companies in several civil and commercial disputes involving construction, consumer, employment, mercantile and taxation matters. In addition, he has advised clients in arbitration proceedings including in proceedings for enforcement and execution of awards before the jurisdictional courts. He has also advised clients in proceedings under the Employees’ State Insurance Act, the Foreign Exchange Management Act, Employees’ Provident Funds Act, Electricity Act and Payment of Wages Act. This has provided him with rich exposure in prosecuting proceedings against various government departments and bodies. Syed routinely appears before the High Court of Karnataka, Civil and Commercial Courts, National Company Law Tribunal, Labour Courts and various judicial, quasi-judicial and departmental authorities.
