Ravi Raghavan

Ravi has a vast experience of close to 24 years in the legal field representing a host of clients such as manufacturers, traders and service providers particularly in iron and steel, automobile, textile, petroleum, FMCG, electronic, banking & finance, energy, information technology, e-commerce sectors and providing them practical and holistic solutions. Prior to commencing his career in the legal profession, Ravi served the Government of India in the Office of the Accountant General (Audit) and (A&E) for almost 16 years. This period also included a stint as part of the Revenue Audit Team. Such experience has enabled Ravi to provide advice which is not only sound from the legal perspective but which is also alive to the accounting and related internal processes of businesses. Ravi regularly appears before various quasi-judicial and judicial bodies including Commissioners, Tribunals and the jurisdictional High Courts in the country representing multinational companies and large domestic companies including all the major public sector companies. This has included representing clients in proceedings against various government departments in matters invoking writ jurisdiction of the constitutional courts, regular appeals and revisions, proceedings before quasi-judicial bodies and in matters adjudicated by commercial courts and arbitrators. The matters handled by him span taxation, employment, construction, commercial and foreign exchange disputes. He has successfully represented clients both in arbitration and before the department authorities with favourable outcomes in many big disputes involving huge implications. In addition to litigation, he has not only handled tax compliance reviews for many multi-national and public-sector enterprises but is also actively engaged in resolving major indirect tax disputes for the clients and providing handholding support.
