Vinod Joseph

Vinod has a track record of over 27 years in advising clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. In the last 18 years, Vinod has advised numerous clients in structuring and establishing private equity and venture capital funds, drafting fund documents, and obtaining necessary regulatory approvals.

Vinod handles intricacies of fund management and understands the unique needs of investment managers. His approach combines extensive legal knowledge, commercial awareness, and expertise in the field to provide practical and effective solutions for the clients.

During his tenure as the General Counsel of IDFC Alternatives Limited, one of India’s largest fund management houses, Vinod was honored by Legal500 in 2018 as a member of the GC Powerlist for India.

Prior to joining LKS, Vinod held key positions at reputable firms, including law firms in London. Vinod has also held significant roles as the Head of Brand Capital Legal at the Times Group, General Counsel at IDFC Alternatives Limited, and General Counsel at Global Infrastructure Partners India LLP. Vinod worked in the UK from 2002 to 2010. During this period, he also served as Vice-President Legal at Kotak Mahindra (UK) Limited.

Vinod qualified as an English solicitor in January 2004 and held a Solicitor’s practising certificate until December 2010. In August 2021, he was admitted to the State Bar of California.

Vinod has authored numerous articles on various topics relating to investment funds and SEBI, and IFSCA regulations for AIFs.
