Anshul Mathur is an Executive Partner in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) practice of the firm at New Delhi. He handles clients in diverse sectors such as e-commerce, oil & gas, insurance, real estate, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers and vehicle leasing.
Anshul Mathur has been associated with Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan since 2007 and assists clients on all matters relating to GST. Prior to the advent of GST he has worked extensively in the areas of sales tax/VAT and service tax.
He advises clients on issues such as related party transactions, valuation, works contract, slump sales, transfer of participating interest (PI), classification, compliance with anti-profiteering measure, tax collection at source requirement for e-commerce entities, etc. He has also drafted representations on behalf of industry associations on key issues.
Anshul has conducted Tax Compliance Reviews for major players in the private and public sector to provide compliance guidelines and ensure that tax benefits are optimized. He has also assisted in high stake litigation matters relating to sales tax before the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court of India.
At the University, he was a rank holder and won several Moot Court Competitions at the National and International level.
He is an avid orator and regularly delivers lectures on topics relating to indirect taxes.
